A Quick Recipe To Cook Bakery Like Cherry Coffee Cake At Home

Ingredients


  • 3 cups (414 g) of dark sweet cherries - fresh/ frozen, pitted

  • 1/2 cup (100 g) of granulated sugar

  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) of fresh lemon juice - from about 1/2 medium-sized lemon

  • 3 tbsp (200 ml) of milk

  • 2 tbsp of slivered almonds 

  • 1/8 tsp (1 ml) of ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup (59 g) of water - if utilizing fresh cherries



Making


  • Preheat the oven to 375* F and grease a 10-inch cast-iron skillet with butter.

  • Take out cinnamon rolls from the tube and set the icing packet aside (if you'd prefer to make your icing). Separate dough and cut them into 12 equal pieces. Place cinnamon roll slices in a buttered pan. Fondle pie filling over the batter and sprinkle with almonds.

  • Bake the cherry coffee cake for 45-50 minutes or until it becomes deep golden brown. 

  • Let the coffee cake cool for a few minutes, then drizzle with icing. Cut into pieces and serve warm.


Cream Cheese Icing (optional)


Now stir the cream, cheese, and powdered sugar together until it’s thoroughly combined in a small bowl, then beat the extract and milk. Add more milk if it's too thick or more sugar if excessively runny.
